Vengeful Woman

 My final started out with one thought: Medea. I knew she was who I wanted to focus on and I knew I wanted to explore that supernatural side of her. I previously took a class on Monsters and we often reimagined specific as montrousous, and I thought this would be perfect for Medea. From here I had to decide just which monster she should be. The two attributes that I wanted to focus on were her filicide and her scorn for her husband. The actions that she committed as a result is truly what made her a monster. Unfortunately, I could not find any child murdering female monsters, however, I remembered this particular type of Oni called a Hannya. A hannya is a vengeful woman demon who has been scorned by her lover and it just fits perfectly. In the model I created you can see that I have a focus on the color red, this meant to be mostly a nod towards the burning of her children. Like her face is as red as the fires of hell.
